Animal Crossing New Horizons: Getting Ready For New Years!
I think we’re all ready to leave 2020 behind, but there are a few items you can get your hands on before the countdown happens in your town. The event seems pretty simple in this game, but I’ll quickly highlight some items you can get before the countdown happens:
1. Talk to Isabelle at the plaza
Talk to Isabelle while she’s standing near the countdown clock in the plaza and she will reward you with a light stick (glow stick). This counts as a tool and is not expended when you use it. You can equip it through the menu or your tool ring, and holding the use button down will cause your character to wave the glow stick around.
2. Buy New Year’s hats and party poppers from Tom Nook
Tom Nook will be standing in your plaza near the count down clock and has 4 different colors of New Year’s or New Year’s Silk hats available to purchase and packs of party poppers. Party poppers are 300 bells for a pack of 5 (one party popper is consumed per use) and 500 bells per New Year’s hat (2000 bells total if you want all 4 colors available in your town).
3. Visit your friends and buy different types of New Year’s hats
My town had “New Year’s hats,” while my friend’s town had “New Year’s silk hats” in 4 different colors. Visit your friends and try to collect what you’re missing! I think there is only 1 color of glow stick at this point, and it’s yellow.
